On Ilha Verde, the listed minimum age is 18 and requires at least 1 year of driving experience. Some vehicle categories may require a higher minimum age.
What documents are needed to rent a car in the Azores?
To pick up the car on Ilha Verde, you must present a valid driver's license and identification. For the security deposit and payment, the company requires a credit or debit card in the name of the renter or an additional driver identified in the contract.
Is a security deposit required for car rentals in the Azores?
Yes. Before the withdrawal, Ilha Verde may authorize your card to cover rent, additional services, and other inherent costs. The final amount is indicated in the confirmation email and the rental agreement.
Where can I change or cancel a car rental reservation in the Azores?
To change or cancel your booking, use the same channel you booked through or call +351 296 304 891. The general terms allow changes and cancellations without a fee when you give at least 48 hours’ notice before pick-up. A change may affect the rental price; a late cancellation may incur a fee. Check your booking terms.
Where can I pick up and return a rental car in the Azores?
You can pick up and return your car at the available stations on your chosen island. Check locations and opening hours when booking, and confirm the agreed stations in your confirmation email and rental agreement. If you need to return the car to a different station, contact the team to check the applicable conditions.
